England

Jozy Altidore and Sunderland struggled to get any points against Altidore’s former side, Hull City. Hull took down Sunderland 1-0 after Sunderland received two red cards. Both Lee Cattermole and Andrea Dossena were sent off after rash challenges. Altidore was subbed out at halftime for Sunderland. Sunderland’s confidence did not seem to be shaken after the result. The black cats went on to defeat Southampton 2-1 in the Capital One Cup midweek. Altidore played 90 minutes and assisted on Sunderland’s winning goal.

Southampton faced Stoke City Saturday. The two sides drew 1-1 while Geoff Cameron played a solid 90 minutes for Stoke. Cameron also picked up a yellow card in his performance.

Tim Howard continued his so far impressive season by keeping a clean sheet against Tottenham on Sunday. Howard played 90 minutes and picked up a yellow in the match that ended scoreless.

Similarly, Brad Guzan also played 90 minutes in a scoreless match. Aston Villa sit in fourteenth place after drawing West Ham 0-0. Saturday saw QPR win yet another game in the Championship.

Ream also picked up a yellow card in his performance. The win further separates Bolton from the relegation zone as they are now in 19th place. Bolton also find themselves on a six-game unbeaten streak, which Ream has been quite a vital part of.

Germany

Jermaine Jones and John Anthony Brooks’ respective clubs went at it Saturday as Schalke took down Hertha Berlin 2-0. Brooks did not dress for Hertha as Jones made a 10-minute substitute cameo for Schalke. Jones did come up with an assist on a 90th minute Julian Draxler goal despite the small amount of time he played.

Elsewhere, Nurnberg lost 3-0 to Freiburg over the weekend. Timothy Chandler played 90 minutes, but Nurnberg couldn’t salvage anything from the game.

In the Bundesliga II, 1860 Munich lost to Dynamo Dresden 3-1. Bobby Wood dressed but did not make an appearance off of the bench. Alfredo Morales played another 90 minutes for Ingolstadt as they drew Paderborn 1-1.

Italy

Michael Bradley is back in full force with Roma. The midfielder played 90 minutes for Roma this past week as they drew Torino 1-1. Bradley picked up a yellow in the game. The match is Roma’s first draw of the season. It also snapped Roma’s win streak but the first place side are still unbeaten.

Netherlands

Thanks to a 2-0 win over the weekend, AZ Alkmaar now find themselves in first place in the Eredivisie. Aron Johannsson picked up an assist in the 2-0 win against Ado Den Haag.

Norway

Mikkel Diskerud and Rosenborg defeated Viking this past week in one of the most important fixtures of their season. Diskerud did not start but entered the match in the 70th minute as Rosenborg won 2-1. Rosenborg are currently in second place with 59 points while Stromsgodset are in first on 60 points. Both sides have only one match left to play. If Rosenborg can defeat Lillestrom away from home then they will put themselves in a position to win the Tippeligaen. However, Stromsgodset will still have to either draw or lose to third place Haugesund in Gulskogen. The winner of the 2013 Tippeligaen campaign will be known Sunday as the top two teams play that day.

Honefoss are now mathematically relegated from the Tippeligaen despite a win against Sogndal this past week. Steve Clark played 90 minutes in a 3-1 win against Sogndal. Honefoss face Odd Grenland in their last match in the Tippeligaen this season. The match could also be Steve Clark’s final match for Honefoss after proving his worth in the Tippeligaen over the past two seasons.

France

Alejandro Bedoya played a solid 90 minutes for Nantes this past week. Nantes drew Montpellier 1-1 away from home. Nantes were up 1-0 until a 90th minute equalizer from Djamel Bakar. Nantes currently reside in fourth place in Ligue 1 play.

Ogunbiyi played another 90 minutes at centerback for Viborg. Conor O’Brien and Odense had an even tougher test as they faced second place Aalborg. Aalborg won 1-0. O’Brien played 90 minutes.

Belgium

Mexico

Puebla are out of the playoff hunt in Mexico after a 1-1 draw to Pachuca. Both Damarcus Beasley and Michael Orozco played 90 minutes but ended up just missing out on the playoffs.

Still able to make the playoffs, Tijuana and Tigres will be looking for wins in their upcoming fixtures. Tigres drew Leon 1-1 in their last fixture as Jose Francisco Torres played the final 21 minutes. As for Tijuana, they took apart Atlante 4-1 a week ago. Greg Garza played 90 minutes while Edgar Castillo played the final 44 minutes and Herculez Gomez the final thirteen. Paul Arriola dressed but did not play. In order to make the playoffs, Tijuana will need a win in their upcoming match against Leon. Tigres also likely need a win but a tie could do it for them. It largely depends on how Morelia and Queretaro do in their final match of the season as the two sides currently take up the final two playoff spots in seventh and eighth place.

Elsewhere, Alonso Hernandez dressed but did not play for Monterrey in a 3-0 win against Veracruz.
