It looks like Steven Gerrard will be heading to America after the end of the Premier League season and sources say that it will be indeed be with the LA Galaxy.

Though he didn’t say which team he is signing for specifically, all signs point at the five time MLS Champions. Steven Goff of The Washington Post and ESPN broke the news this morning after Gerrard announced that he wouldn’t be signing a new contract with his longtime club, Liverpool.

"I'm not over the line with any team just yet," Gerrard said. “I’m close and as soon as I know, I'll make the announcement."

Goff reported his contract will be for 18-months and will be getting $6 million a year making Gerrard their 3rd Designated Player.

Rumor is that the New York Red Bulls hold his Discovery Claim, which meant they had the first right to refusal on Gerrard leading the way for the Galaxy to sign him.

Turning 35 in the May, the Englishman is not the same player he used to be though he has proven to be still crucial on set pieces. If he does come to Los Angeles, he will most likely be playing alongside Juninho in central midfield leaving Marcelo Sarvas to the flanks, bench, or even with another team.

With Liverpool, Gerrard has won many trophies including the FA Cup, League Cup, Community Shield, Champions League, UEFA Cup, and UEFA Super Cup. In 17 years with Liverpool, he’s racked up 695 appearances, 116 Premier League goals, and 102 assists.
